Chicago New East Side Neighborhood
Introduction
The New East Side is a combination of older high rise office and condominium buildings along with a residential development called Lakeshore East. The neighborhood is part of the Loop community area and its boundaries are: Wacker Drive on the north, DuSable Lake Shore Drive on the east, Randolph Street on the south and Michigan Avenue on the west.
Cuisine
One of the city’s top restaurants specializing in Greek cuisine, Avil on the Park, recently took over the prominent location overlooking Lakeshore East Park. The Brown Bag Seafood restaurant offers specialities such as lobster sandwiches and a view of Maggie Daley Park.
Housing
The housing offering in the New East Side includes high rise condominiums and luxury townhouses. There are many spectacular views in this enclave of a neighborhood that most people don’t know exist.
The crown jewel of luxury urban living is at the billion dollar St. Regis condominium tower. Most homes at this address are north of $1,000,000.
